Teeworlds lag

Guys, I bought Nvidia 980ti 2 weeks ago, all games work better, but Teeworlds has got the same" bug" it has with my old Nvidia 770.

I THINK it is graphic card, but I am not sure... If I go gores server, or just play a map with simple background the game looks laggy, but I can see 300 fps (I locked).
In maps with complicated design... The game is normal...

For example in Nostalgia at start the game is ok , but near end, when design is more simple... It looks laggy! Ofc it is playable but it is boring, because I can't play oldschool anymore.

With entities the game is normal too, but it is boring play with entities when design is simple and without with complicated design.

I also tryed to remove quads, but it lag more than before.

16gb ram ddr4
If 600 3.5ghz
MSI z170a gaming m3
Gtx 980

I noticed the same problem on Windows machines with Nvidia graphics cards. I think the GPU driver notices that not much GPU power is used, so it assumes you're not playing a game and goes into power saving mode. Unfortunately I don't have a solution, maybe this power saving can be disabled somehow.

Most have nvidia cards. Not sure if it affects all models. You can work around it by disabling vsync and not setting an fps limit, but then your card gets hot and consumes a lot of power all the time.

Nvidia control panel can help you.

You can also try to use complex background to prevent it from going to sleep mode.

Just i lock fps max to 1000 and min to 800 and it worked, I didn't thought Teeworlds wasnt considerated a game, but that was true, thanks to all

I don't fps lag at all, but I have a Nvidia GeForce (a bit old ik)
except on maps with soo many empty quads.

Wtf? I have 2x980Ti in sli mode and alltime got 2000 fps.

Resolution and graphics settings matter, FSAA 0 mostly. Also, at some point your CPU becomes the limit, so you could try f1, cl_cpu_throttle 0. Anyway, not sure what difference it makes whether you have 2000 or 3000 fps.
