From all the topics lately wanted to post this and I looked and counted there are 1280 ddrace maps from posting this and challenge anyone to make a new creative moderate map about 10 min average time that has completely NEW parts no copies no tune zones and lets see how you fair in this

Just because a map has a part that looks like it has been copied or actually has been copied block by block doesnt mean its a bad map we play maps for fun not for a specific new part. I and most people judge a map on everything in it not just ONE part
I just wonder why some maps arent getting released and they are actually fun to play

I got some of the maps from archive and played with some friends on a lan server , We had actual fun! (yes they were noob and i did most parts) but the point still stand why decline a map just cause one person says ONE part has been copied or the parts look like other maps??

Most maps get declined because they make no fun.
-they are unbalanced
-annoying parts (parts where you just wait for example)
-tight parts
-ugly/annoying design
-too mutch uncreative parts
some maps have only parts we have seen allready 1000times(gores/drag through gores/simple hf/simple spammed edgehooks just to name a few.)
Most not released maps deserve it to get declined(most not all)

Just a little history about why we originally had this rule at DDNet:
Be creative! Do not steal parts or create parts that are very similar to parts on other maps. Instead use your fantasy and create something unique or improve existing parts significantly.
DDmaX was the most popular DDRace server, but the style of maps converged so that all the new maps were very similar. We wanted to have something new and fun that would differentiate us and give the bored players new challenges: DDNet as the place for creative maps. When a map was rejected on DDNet, we didn't feel bad because they could still release it on DDmaX.
