Moderator Guidelines
last updated on 2021/05/01

We are certainly glad that you want to apply for ingame moderation at our official (ddrace) servers. Go ahead and read the rules and additional tips before applying (:

As a DDNet Moderator you are to set an example for others. Please allow the community to take you seriously. In order to ensure that the community and its servers run smoothly, you must follow and enforce the rules that we set forth. As a Moderator you agree to comply with the following:
  • User Guidelines (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2199)
  • /rules
  • Maintain fair judgement and treatment ANYTIME, no favourism or hatred (ie. never abuse your powers)
Note that, being inactive for longer than 1 month can result in a demotion. Should you become active again, you will be welcomed back to the staff. Also the rules are final. Do not create rules which are not listed. If you are having issues understanding the rules or have other related problems, contact an Administrator. The final judgement is up to Administrators.

Your duties as a Moderator are as follows:
  • Enforcing the server rules.
  • Solving most issues that may arise in-game.
  • Staying up to date about the community.
  • Answering general user questions or directing them to the responsible person.
For more detailed information about how to enforce your duties read the moderation guidelines (viewtopic.php?f=72&t=5600). ?? TODO

If a Moderator fails to meet the expectations placed on them, they may be removed from their staff rank and responsibilities. They are also subject to the same disciplinary actions if they break any of the initial user rules. We understand that Moderators are human and that they may do some things that upset players. If you believe a Moderator misbehaved contact an (also human) Administrator.

Moderator Application Instructions

Application Guidelines
last updated on 2021/05/01

There are some general requirements you have to fulfill before applying.
  • We will not accept any applications regarding block server moderation.
  • While there is no specific requirement on how long applications must be, please use common sense. Applications that do not sufficiently answer the questions will be disregarded.
  • You may apply as soon as you meet the requirements. However, it is a good idea to wait and allow the community to get to know you more (e.g. contribute to threads, make suggestions, test maps, etc.) before applying.
  • New applications will be open for approximately 2 weeks before any choices are made.
  • Applications that have been copied/plagiarized from others will be deleted without you being notified.
  • Fluency in the main server language to which you are applying (English for GER)
  • Frequent in-game activity
  • Good behavior
  • Dedication to helping other people
  • The ability to be mature, communicate well and handle your power responsibly
After you have read everything mentioned above, you may begin your application by starting a new thread in this forum.
Please answer following questions in a continuous text (i.e. no bullet points):
  • What are your current and past in-game names?
  • How old are you?
  • What country do you live in?
  • What languages do you speak?
  • Why do you think you should become a Moderator?
  • How long can you be active on the server each week?
  • How long have you been playing on DDNet?
  • What is your Discord account?
  • Anything you want to say that has not been mentioned above?
