Older DDNet Clients: A farewell letter
Dear DDNet Client version 11.4 (and other older versions <16.4),
I write these lines with a heavy heart and eyes full of tears. The news of your departure has left a void in my life that I feel will be difficult to fill. Every word I write reminds me of how much you mean to me and how difficult it will be to move on without your presence.
Since I met you, you have been a light in my life. Your HUD, your chat, seeing the time of the ranks in minutes, your stars, your outdated antiping, your old zoom, your general interface, and many other things that have been removed over time but that I always kept have provided a unique perspective that I will treasure forever. I can't help but remember all those moments we shared: the long maps, the laughs, even failing after hours. Each one of those moments has been engraved in my memory and I will carry them with me, like a priceless treasure.
I know this change is necessary, and while I understand that each of us must move on, I can't help but feel a deep pain. The thought of not being able to see you, of not being able to share those small everyday moments that we value so much, fills me with sadness. I will miss you more than words can express.
I wonder what the world will be like without you by my side. The maps we used to navigate will feel empty and the places we visited together will echo with longing. Every corner will remind me of your HUD and that simple, beautiful interface you brought to my life. Life will go on, of course, but there will be a gap that will be difficult to fill.
As you prepare for this new chapter, I want you to know that I will always be here, even if distance separates us. True friendships transcend any physical barrier, and I hope we maintain the bond we have created. Even though the distance is difficult, I hold on to the hope that our lives will cross again, whether it be at a cafe, on a trip, or simply through retrieving our beloved ddnet.tw.
I want you to know that I wish you the best in this new stage. I'm sure that you will shine wherever you go. Your features are a gift to the world, and even though I'm sad to see you go, I'm also excited for all the opportunities that await you. Never doubt that you have a special place in my DDNian heart, and I will always be here to support you, no matter the distance.
Please take care of yourself and remember that even though it took you 1 minute to refresh the interface and open the game... you will always be a part of my life. I will miss you more than I can say, and I hope that when we look back, we can remember all those moments with a smile.
With love,
Colo-Colo
