Re: Sleeping emote
I guess, it will be better when emote not blinking but always is above tee until he make any move with mouse or press any key. If you think that on screen will be too much different stuff, you can make a button which turn on/off this functiondeen wrote:Also, should this happen whenever you're afk or only in freeze? How often should it be shown? It's really annoying when it comes every 5 seconds

Re: Sleeping emote
More buttons is even worse!!! Then some people show zZZ when they're afk, some do not and you have no idea if they're afk after all. Actually, people also sometimes aren't long-time afk or pausing, but just don't concentrate on the screen for some moments.TheZyZya wrote:I guess, it will be better when emote not blinking but always is above tee until he make any move with mouse or press any key. We can't show it all the time, it would just be blinking up every 20ms and everyone would lag because of the higher bandwidth it would cause.
Re: Sleeping emote
I love that idea <3
The best thing would be to always display the sleeping emote when a player is in /spec or did not do anything for like 30secs while in freeze.
Unfortunately that doesn't seem possible, so you're right deen. Blinking emotes are irritating, 20ms emotes cause lags and there are still many unexpected cases where the sleeping emote doesn't help at all.
So, it's a great suggestion but hard to implement correctly.

Re: Sleeping emote
what about just add /spec to all servers? if ppl would learn to use them, there would be no problem in hooking someone who... is not there

Re: Sleeping emote
Maybe we could add it as a DDNet Client only feature (so we could implement it without taking up too much bandwidth) and make it disabled by default (I mean showing that "zzz" emotes, so it would be possible to not see them, but impossible to not send them)?

Re: Sleeping emote
If there is no way for emote, what about nick color change?

Re: Sleeping emote
I guess that would be really good visible. I think its only possible with ddnet but who cares. Almost all ddracer uses ddnet.
