i see no reason to don't get points, these are still normal maps, anyway - it's topic about adding them or not, such things as best way to add them into server structure is thread for another, longer topic i guess

I think we should ask the DDracemaX staff (and mappers?) for the permission to use their maps (for the sake of copyright and being fair to them), but apart from that I think it's a good idea, at least while the DDracemaX is offline. I personally encountered the problem of "I want to play this map, but its nowhere to be found", so I fully understand you, Lady Saavik.

That's why sub category would be called DDracemaX, instead of placing maps in normal DDNet categories (novice, moderate, etc.)

Just want to add that the people that does not know ddmax will not have any idea what is a ddmax category for. and probably will be less played in those places..

I know, but I think it will be more fair to ask the creators before uploading them - and I guess it will be much safer in terms of formal rights to host this maps. I'm not really sure how they are treated by law, but I think that gaining a permission, like we do with normal maps, is always a good practice. And besides, I think the DDracemaX staff will be happy to hear that we want to keep their culture alive until they get back on their feet. ^^
