When you press Ctrl+S to save, but then decide not to save and press Esc to quit the window, the shortcut doesn't work anymore when you use it for another time. Esc should exactly have the same function as "Abort". Maybe it's not a problem but when it happens to be it is annoying.

Also, sometimes I am not able to place any tiles till I reload the map, no clue why.

Esc works the same for me as Abort. Also no idea about the second problem.
