No, they shouldn't.

I know there are some players and clans that use names starting with /, but they have always been annoying because you can't just write a message to them and have to prepend it with a space or something else. So names starting with / are forbidden now: https://git.io/vKOjT

So you want to tell us that everyone who uses these names has now to restart from 0, just cause a troll?

If somebody of them wants his points transferred to a new name, he can contact the admins

It's not just about points, it's their whole identity in tw. Also it is hard coded, means every server using DDNet (like KoG) has to transfer points and such, too.

Instead of purely forbidden, we can prepend a space or a point maybe?
