My solution would be to turn of all custimzed skins by standard, so they dont need to be loaded in memory and an option to turn these skins on again.

That's the same. People can run their own packs but I have nothing do with it.
But it would be cool if we can collect these packs in one Thread or something similar. So the people would find the one they want to add.

I also like the idea with skin-packs + atm most skins are Bandana Bro skins, so moving them into skin-pack would make additional space for some "normal" skins

i think there is enough options right now to have a unique skin

most bandana bros dont even use the skins anymore

nearly every player has a unique skin :D

How about the client only loads the skins needed?
I mean when I just start the client, only my and my dummy's skin are loaded.
When I enter a map the other clients tell me which skins are used and only those are loaded then.
This way I could have 5000 skins in the directory, but would effectively use ~64
Possible?
