DDNet needs gores maps to finally add DDGores as a replacement for KoG
DEERGROVE is the way better ddgores map, its challenging its creative
this is NO DDgores map

I talked with jao about releasing Gores maps in general, since the latest releases weren't really popular. We came to the conclusion that we should give this map here a try, because in opposite to the other gores maps on DDNet, this map here is much easier and thus also playable for lower skilled players.
Do you mean latest releases that are mostly solo maps, which aren't played that much these days, followed by some insane maps and hard dummy maps, which obviously not many players can play? Anyway popularity of other maps has nothing to do with this one here, which obviously brings nothing new to the table. In 2018 I'd expect something more than just rushing through randomly shaped tunnels with hook.
What I don't like about the map is that it's just gores... there are already other gores maps and this one isn't somehow outstanding. I'd rather see some mix of easy gores and simple dynamic parts.
Also the feature he used isn't really freshening up anything, it just makes it worse. Tele hook isn't that intuitive, especially for low skilled players, so they will most likely fail such hooks at first (and ofc last hook is the worst one). It's more of an unneeded addition for me. Also you can skip 3 of them solo.
Map itself isn't bad, but it's nothing new either. Imo would need rework.

According to the new rules for maps tested by testing groups, this thread will be opened for roughly a week. If there aren't any bigger complaints, it will be released automatically then.
Truly hilarious.

No, I'm talking about gores maps only.

I refer to gores maps on DDNet, not gores maps that feature DDRace elements

you have been offered some very good gores maps already but you rejected them, you cant just make a DDNET EASY GORES SERVER FOR FREE POINTS NOW
if you do such a server deergrove should be the first release

This topic is about Kero-Gores 8. Deergrove has been declined for reasons that are completely unrelated to this map.

Deergrove was declined because it was too hard, which may be somewhat true but it was still a much better "DDGores" map than this one.

@Ravie & Pulsar, thank you for your detailed feedback.
It is intended that there are different possibilities to the play the map, that's part of the gameplay. The hook-tele parts aren't the only ones which can be cheated; It is a normal thing that gores parts can be skipped with hf and well...if you are that good to skip parts solo, then have fun doing so.
Aside of this, I find it weird that you criticize a gores map to be a gores map. It's okay if you don't like a certain type of maps in general, but that isn't an argument for or against a map.

The main fact is that it's playable for mostly everyone, so it is a lot more appealing. Ddnet is in heavy need of simpler gores maps.

Well i love Keros maps, as do many. Since i have no way of ever playing the kog servers without huge delay, more gores maps are welcome.
It's known that there are regions where DDNet servers are provided, but no servers by KoG. A few easy and medium gores maps would make it possible for many people to play some gores. Thus, we are looking forward to provide you this experience in future.
