just no points for race server? like 3 years ago... when people play for ranks

Real shortrunners won't switch the Server because its DDnet.
They will stay on their favourite servers, because there are all the records, also of runners who stopped playing Teeworlds.

Longs got lost, because of these many shortserver, so some people dont know the good old maps.
Thats why longs should be added and shorts not.

What about people that isn't on europe?

Yeah, it's so bad if shortruns would get you 1 point, because... no reason. Shortruns won't get you a lot of points and who cares about 20 points. And if you think that those points are so valueable, make yourself the "effort" and finish them. Noone cried about flappy bird, noone cried about easy novice maps that are like 50 secs of effort to finish or about solo maps that are finishable in less than 30 secs, giving 4-8 points. But I see, shortruns with 1 point are the real problem. I really understand the non existing problem now.

And its not even bad if they wouldnt give you points, the racers would play them for speedruns, not for finishing them. Ddnet maps were always to finish and not just to play for ranks. But i dont mind a few of them either, so the speedrunners are happy

just give 1 points and stop this stupid conversation ahah if everybody can get this point.. that make no differences

Impossible to convice shortrunners alone.

As already pointed out there are racemaps so easy everyone can finish them within a few seconds but there are longer and hard maps too, thus my proposal is not to apply the normal stars/points system to the raceservers. This way super easy maps could give players no points at all but the hard ones could still be valued with some points (or some more ).

I really don't like the idea of adding a point system which is synced with the normal ddrace server points. I mean race is a completly different mod than ddrace. At least the goal of the mods are completly different. You are racing for good ranks (name is saying it already), points are less important. And if you are ddracer you are playing for fun, to challenge yourself, and some for the ranks. So the current points system is basicly perfect for ddrace. Imho its not fitting for a race server but that's not the point now.

I just try to say: Make whatever points system you like for the race servers but Do NOT sync with the ddrace servers. Give 1000 points for every short race idc as long as its not synced.

Nevertheless I make a suggestion for a pointsystem where ranks are very important and play a high role for the given points (and not just the amout of finished maps)

This is very old page, so this is just for example.

Example: you have 3 maps on the server: map1, map2 and map3.
Your rank on map1 is 15, on map2 - 60, on map3 - no rank.
So your total rank will be 15+60+100 = 175 points

But somehow it doesn't matter anymore which point system is available for the race server since the ddnet points system is completly senseless after adding ddmax and just about farming points on ddmax server.
