By race maps i asume its rocket race where u see how fast u can finish, anywhere between 2 seconds maps - 1 minute?

Race is like ddrace, but a strictly solo mod.
You don't have to get rocket on every race map.
Race maps don't use ddrace entities.

A decision has been made. We will try to start a separate Race server. We will release a classic map a day and see how it goes. If the server becomes popular, it will keep running and we will accept new Race maps from then on. It stays separate of DDNet Solo.
If the interest in the server will be low, we'll stop adding maps as soon as we notice and instead merge them into the DDNet Solo server, and shut down the Race server.

Nice to hear that, i voted for new Race Server+Maps because sometimes its just relaxing to play something different than your main mod e.g. ddrace.

Doesn't change anything that you play on ddrace or race mods for those maps .

I love race and I can make some maps for it

I voted: Don't add any further race maps
If i know well, the race maps haven't freeze, but you just have to run.
I think RACE it's not the same of DDRACE. These servers are called DDNET servers, because it's ddrace and for me, race it's not the same.

Maybe the gores map are near to ddrace, but race it's another thing for me.


And... in my opinion, i never like race maps, because the major of them are really easy and you have just to take a good rank and i suck with ranks.

Yeah ur right Alvin risk. But there was a easy solution for this: just add a not with ddrace related ddnet race server.

Nico is right IMHO. Race map doesn't fit in ddrace because they are mostly short and not faily. So its more important to have a good rank but the current point system is bad for this. Because most people would play the map for points once and they are not forced to run a map as fast as possible. And that's the main idea of race.

Soo if race doesn't fit in DDNetwork, why are there block and zcatch servers, when they have nothing in common with ddrace?
I would appreciate a race server seperate from ddnet, without any points etc.
