What you just said makes so little sense it is impossible for my brain to handle. Anyways I find it incredibly insane to argue about such meaningless matters in this thread. You got your opinion, I got mine, we won't agree, that's it. Now we should probably find a solution to keeping DDNet alive, which is far more important now than someone apologizing to someone else.

I never put hi_leute as admin and I'd be the last person to suggest him. I was against him and voiced this publicly on the forum. But since I gave my admin rights away I couldn't do anything other than voice my opinion. Anyway, the unfortunate truth was that hi_leute was the main active admin, so now that he left we have no one. From what I heard the admins tried to get more helpers, like dinner, but they don't have much time for DDNet.

Sure, we could just let DDNet run in its current state. But since no new maps will be released, no new features added, no special events held, DDNet just takes up a space. While DDNet exists, other servers have no chance of getting big. So you have to shut down DDNet first, then all the people who hate DDNet (hi_leute, Aoe, Tsin, ...) have a level playing field to run their own servers and innovate again.

But we're happy with DDNet in its current state. ^^ It could be better, of course, but the way it is now is still much better than not having it at all. :c
Also, do we really want to move out to servers created by people who hate DDNet? :c
hannibal wrote:Hey, maybe qshar could take over? He seems to be awesome as admin for KoG. Has anybody asked him?

Then we could make an awesome client with an additional tab for KoG, that would be sweet.
That's a nice idea. ^^

Oh, and about the lack of technical staff:
  • Gr33nt3a offered his help some time ago.
  • Maybe we could ask laxa for help? He manages DDRace Pro, which also has one ranking for all servers, so I guess he has more than enough knowledge.

Afaik laxa dont want to put time into maintaining teeworlds servers[²]. Gr33nt3a was already website admin but don't got time anymore. QshaR is not interested in overtaking the leadership of ddnet and can't invest the time ddnet would need to be maintained.

There is no future without justice, Welf.

My suggestions are same:
1. Unban all banned with this incident. After all u can do it right now, deen. :)
2. Modify moderators system like open mod voting system.
3. Implement rank helpers for donate. Like 1 Euro = 1 Rank (not first, like top10) moderate, 2 Euro = 1 Rank brutal. Volunteers who wants help DDNET but can't donate - may help by this. Its rly fun. Appoint somebody to this work, like "Donaters crew". It is real world - money are neccesary for keep servers alive.
4. Implement skillpoints for addition to /points.
5. Implement map quality system. Voting only after finish.
6. Implement HUD for racers into client (on|off). All the same It exists by ctrl+shift+d. But ugly.
7. Modify maptest system to a open voting system.
8. Implement worst map deletion system by open voting (1 time in a month).
9. Start section with "what to do" on list with tournaments/coding/forum/ddos protection suggestions/etc. (With open voting system, where if u vote for something - u will do it. This way u always know who does what.)
10. Modify forum with "like" function. I can do it (i have my own phpbb forums with 25k users).
11. Modify forum with advanced polls function, for a hidden voting for mods/maps-on-test/etc, voting until date expired, etc, etc, etc (i can add it too).
12. Possible we can add virtual cash to ddnet, which ppl can exchange each other, tips each other or pay for "ranks", et cetera. (i can implement it too).
13. I can implement to forum bunch of functions, like reputation, wiki-how, medals system, tooltips, auto-parsing with video/audio, teamspeak viewer (who's online in laxa teamspeak tw section), auto image resizing, gallery, videogallery, tip of a day, announcements, etc, etc, etc. Tons of things.
14. Implement CTRL+Key function, ALT+Key function. Srsly all my keys are binded. WIth a tons of a binds like switch DPI, zoom 3x, zoom out 3x, restore zoom, kill, dummy_copy, switch names and skins, deadzones, allow zones for a tricks, etc.
15. Implement "trusted" accounts which will need to set password from personal forum options. Ingame /trusted **** - will give u another color at nickname on ddnet client. Or so.
16. Need more cookies.

Lol, i have dedicated server for a forum/boards/blogs and its fully provides itself and works with same section mod's system. And i havent adverstiment. Just cuz ppl want different "cookies" to their accounts/virtual cash for thanks others/etc they paid little amount. Like 0.1 euro and so on.
I aint got profit from this, but it procure costs for datacenter.

And i havent a game even!

I gave many variants. If u can give a suggestions, you are welcome.
Otherwise i see only crying and nothing rational. ;)
