Heyho,
I just tried to play Teeworlds again on my smartphone with a xbox controller, well it did work for the movement, but no matter what i did, the hook didnt want to work, maybe it was forgotten, because the other movement was working from the beginning

Who is this someone? Someone made the default controls too? Would be cool if it happens in near future, i really wanna try playing tw with controller because im in vacation

Btw. Idk if it helps you: in the classic client from the play store it works fine! Changing the physical buttons or ingame the controls for hook, both dont help in the ddnet client.
