The latest update with the free view in demo player is amazing

I've asked about this in teeworlds.com while ago and this is seriously a great update. The problem is that this is client-side recording, therefore if other players are too far from my perspective in-game, it won't work.

I have two suggestions.

1. The server sends streams demo recording to the clients. This probably takes double the amount of upload/download bandwidth for the clients, multiple for the server, just for the download, depending on how many players there are, but one player takes less than 30kbps both upload and download. This is assuming the stats on "send" and "recv" are accurate. This feature might not be so third-world-country friendly, unfortunately.

2. The clients send some kind of hand shaking tokens to each other (if the players click an agree button or something?) and collectively record the demo, streaming to each other. Instead of giving the entire load to the server, this will be on the clients.

I think #1 is better, but having some flexibility might not hurt.

I'm still working on fixing this feature, it's not ideal with /pause and spectator mode. I don't agree with your suggestions. Instead on DDNet server we have /showall and /showothers. For the iCTF servers of DDNet I modified it so that you can see at any distance when in spec mode.

Edit: 8.0.1 is out now and spectator mode in demo viewer should work much better.
