Hey, i just discovered that when you add a quad layer (it doesn't happen with other types of layer) and you don't use it, when you load again the map it just blow off... Maybe it's intended but i reported it for see if it's a bug, because it doesn't work with tile layer or other types...

Maybe it could work also for rest, including game layers - whenever no tile is used? That could also help in testing when looking if layer was even used once

Well, it takes longer to check if tile layers are empty. quad layer is very simple to check, so i guess that's why it's not done.

I think for Testers it would be nicer, if there would be a script reading the map-file and automatically deletes unused layers and removes unused mapres and so on.
So an all in one package wich does the basic work in a few seconds. But yes, needs some effort to code it, ofc.

Yeah but this script should run only when the map is finished! It should happen even for embedd-external things... but if someone at example wanna keep a sound audio file external just for don't make the map large... this script will ruin it...

You know that external doesnt mean unused
Y on loading a special map i am blowing out of tw(crash) reason is maybe external << but not important
Do some mappers use external like me?

Y, sometimes i put some stuff in external to make the map smaller while testing. Some people have a bad download or just all have the mapres in their folder and so on...
This script would be used if the map is rdy i guess, if it is well written you could also first display what is wrong and then say what shall be fixed. Would be maybe easier for some Testers if they could check the layers, images, etc. within a few seconds.

What also would be great is if the client scan the map and the mapres folder for mapres wich u already have with effect that u dont need to downoald full map . Or maybe just for ddnet mapres like generic_unhookable 0.7 etc.

But what is when you have modified mapres with the same name?
