I have a problem with the DDnet server from Chile, I´m from Argentina, and a lot of people from other places of Latin America have also a very high ping in that server. Is there anyway you can fix this? D:
PD: in the DDnet server from Brazil I had 40 ping, in Chile I have more ping but it makes no sense because Chile is closer to Argentina compared to Brazil. Please heelp! D:

For political reasons the Internet connections in South America are less than ideal. Unfortunately I can't find a better Chilean server and the Brazilian server doesn't seem to be coming back. It would be better for locals to find a good VPS hoster and buy a sponsored server for DDNet.

Can I create a private ddnet server to play with friends privately?

Sure you can, the client already includes a server.

but ranks are not available, if I clear a map, I dont receive points if it is a private server

Hi Skaydox, only way to fix our problems seems to be find a host, and start DDnet ARG ... haha... but, its little expensive to be done... like $300-$500 per month...

Yep, That's the calculation based in argentinian pesos... but I don't even know how much a host will cost here, or how much you can pay for at least one server... Sorry for my english.

I don't know who is paying for DDnet BR right now, but he have a place in my heart from now... thank you very much...

@Dherian!: Normally you can see it on http://ddnet.org/funding/ but currently there is empty space for Brazil
