Hi , like a lot of people now , there are a lot of DDoS atacks in Chile and Brazil , and maybe the atacks are happening in more servers too , what can we do to prevent the atacks ?
It's important , because this can be the end of ddnet chile and brazil

se, yo tambien los vi, pero se anda cambiando el nombre a cada rato.

maybe we could do the trick by implementing an approval system. every player has to fully connect which goes to ANY server per DNS. if it's confirmed that he is a true player, then he may go to the real server. (the point is to balance the approvals over every ddnet server). so first, the connection goes a little bit slower, but then you can play.

i mean it is just a means of load balancing. you cannot stop these ddos attacks. but maybe in 0.7 we could enable such feature to all server. so little server help the big ones. you could implement that every player connects to connect.teeworlds.com (which is an array of EVERY server registered at master) and if this server approves the traffic, it could join the real server. preventing malicious server (which approves every connection) is like preventing modded server from server list to appear as DM, TDM, CTF. Also you could try to add a signature to the server so the traffic gets thus signature from eg 3 server so every connection is checked 3 times. actually this would lead to load balancing with around 1000 server and this will surely kill any script kiddy's attack.

probably we should also disable the official ddnet servers and stick to a decentralized network. there is one "master" ddnet server (probably more, load balancing) which controls the finishes and scores and there should be many server where you can play.

when will this be possible?

I though that Chilean servers were gone forever... that's a relief. Please do something about this. Don't let the servers die because of a DDoS attack, there is always people playing on these.

Que nombres ah usado? Me acuerdo que habia alguien que entraba siempre a acosar a las mujeres principalmente y buscaba las IPs. Una ves trate de hablar con el por /w y me decia que sabía de programación, ese tipo estaba cagado de la cabeza, no es él por casualidad?
