Main suggestions:
-Increasing persent for succes vote (for example to 70%)
-If vote fail - voter got banned/spec depends whihch he choose for vote for prevent fun/not important votes
-replace kick from server to kick from team, keeping players on server this way. Player will be able to play in another teams (1-75)

For now its fully random thing like lottery, where chance to win pretty high. Becouse of 90% of voters are just random press on buttons.
Folowing my experience voting needed in 3-5% of all votes. Becouse vote can everyone. You got blocked by noob - voteban, you got bad words from player - voteban, you have bad mood - votecick some1.
Just try to test it. For clearly experiment use ok name, and use some reason like BLOCKER-NOOOBBBB!!! on server with players 40+
My suggestion: rework this random votesystem. At least by increasing persent of positive votes to 75%+ for kicking player.
Imo bans should not be normal things in DDNet, as its now. This votes are very annoing, and too often for any reason u want. The worse thing is here no any responsibility using votesystem.

It will be hard to kick blockers, if you need 75%.

kick blockers? Is it(blockers) bigger evil then votes? Gameplay versus blockers shouldnt look like it now, means could be teewar versus blocker on race server but for sure not votebanwars.
One more idea : replace kick from server to kick player from current team (usually 0), but with possibility to play in another else team. This way player stay on DDNet server, but with partially ban.

And this "fine" community wants to be involved in every aspect of DDnet.
To the subject though.
You see, to prevent funvoting you can:

1. Have more active in-game mods (in case of DDnet it is a HUGE amount);
2. Implement some kind of "trust" system based on some criteria (even if it is possible, it will lead to more problems);
3. Use your idea, which will make votekick useless.

Play as it is now. If votesystem could be better, it would.

1. Moders dont do nothing even with funvoting, this is the separate issue.
2. This thread created exactly for weigh all for and all against of this idea.
3. nothing to say. Try to read my posts one more time. Funvotes now is normal thing which shouldnt be in normal game. If you are really have something behind all your words, explain me please why this idea "make votekick useless" ?

First of all, funvoting is a normal thing. Any behaviorist will explain you that, once he understands the term "funvote."

Alright, now about votekick system in general. This system is based on a naive idea that everyone is honest, fair and exactly knows if one should be punished. The last point leads us to a problem, which makes votes random.
Basicly if you increase voting "threshold", it will make even bigger amount of votes random, because now in case a server with somewhat small amount of players, your system will force more players who do not know if one should be punished to vote.
tl;dr: it doesn't make it any less random, but the opposite.

But now that I think about it, I got an idea. Considering ddrace gameplay and features, you can make soft votes.
I don't know if it works like that already, not a ddrace player. Idea is to force players /spec for, say, 5 minutes. You can also add mute to this.
With 64slots servers you can afford a guy sitting in specs, plus he won't be able to offend people in chat, block players, and funvote (specs are not allowed to vote).
Why not using "move to spectators?" Well, I've never tried, but I am pretty sure it reset the race progress and he has to start over again (in case if fair player funvoted).

That's what spec vote does IF the map has /spec enabled (most do not). Otherwise this is not possible as it could be abused to cheat maps.

Kick on 2nd/3rd passed vote? I can see it will be annoying as hell, and won't really make it less random.
I am noting that just for everyone who will come up with this idea.

I`m rly didnt see any logic here and in same your words, sry. Increasing vote barrier we get system, which give possibility to kick only when player are really harmful for server and many players got it. Exactly what I want.
For now votes makes almost all time, in hour from server kicked so many players without strong reason which makes hiS angry. Think about ddos atacks at least.

yea, very nice thing, when you goting kicked by random player with reason : "funvote ahahah". Very fcking normal thing! Maybe you didnt know that in DDNet this word used a bit wrong, I mean votes without any reason to kick, just for fun for voter, and pain for target. Do you think its normal?

Get it finally, that blockers on servers not such problem as votewars

Easy suggestion:

If player A start vote for player B, then if player A reach less <50% he got ban/spec, otherwise If reach >50% of votes then target got ban/spec. With this system u will never see "funvote". Cuz vote start will impose liability.

Other suggestion - just play in team.
