"The Shire" by hannibal
Hi DDNet!
I happily present my first DDRace-map called "The Shire".
It is a Novice map and it takes around 15-20mins to finish it. We have tested it many times and are trying to come under 10mins maybe someone of you can do that.

Hey,
I just tested your map with super and /pause. I agree with Saavik, the design is nice. A really good map for your first attempt :3
Nevertheless I noticed some things that you might want to change. About the difficulty: I would say 1 or even 2* moderate, some parts are kinda tricky (:

- noobfilter is kinda long, maybe you want to include one part in the actual race resp. place the start line earlier?

- it's enough to place 1 shield/2tiles, so you can just put one shield here. it would look better (whole map), but ofc you don't have to change it

- you used the embded alphabet tileset only for this small logo, maybe you can write the map name in the same style as you wrote e.g. 'almost done'? that would reduce the file size drastically

Hi,
i tested the map a lot of times, so i can tell you, the part at picture 6 is doable.
One tee goes down. The other hook it. The first press a and go to the left and up. The second keep hooking and go down. Do a double jump nearly to the freeze and go left.

we did this part other way ^^ so it's even better if there are more possiblites

First of all, thank you, Lady Saavik and Index, for your feedback. I'm glad you like the design.
As for your points, I hope it's okay for you if I go into them one by one. I'd like to tell you what I was thinking when I did them.
Lady Saavik:
Okay, after you show me the cheats, of course I'll make sure to fix them.
Index:
Screen 1. Made the last rocket jump easier.
Screen 2 and 3. I wanted to make the last part non-solo, but if there are too many tees, you can still go solo if you want. This way, solo or not is the players own choice. I like that. But I can change it if you really want me to.
Screen 4. Done. It's harder without the platforms, so I removed some teles as well. Please find updated version attached.
Screen 5. Fixed. Updated version below.
Screen 6. As hi_leute_gll mentioned, this is a doable part that you need to think about first. Everyone that tested it liked it.
Screen 7. Thank you! There's even more of that kind of stuff later on.
Screen 8. I agree, with about 30 seconds, it is a long noob filter compared to other maps. But.. when I think about it, I don't see a way to make the parts before the start line non-solo. There's not much space for big groups of tees :/

While reading your comment, I noticed that I accidently did a small mistake though: My seventh screenshot should show you that this part is cheatable or at least possible in a different way than it is intended (you can remove the left freeze thingie to prevent it but it's not that important). The compliment about the nice idea with tricky shooting in the right angle was actually for the other similar rocket-shooting part you mentioned in your reply :p But well, it doesn't matter. Let's see if Saavik found even more cheatable ways, I'm sure she did :o

I see it now! Both tees can go in the laser-section, one jumps in the left freeze and the other can laser him out. I see. But I have found a fix.
I'll wait with the upload until Lady Saavik mentions the other cheats.

hannibal and me had a little discussion about the last part. (the rocket part).
We think that the old version was better than the updated one. It had the right length, it had 2 different ways to get the speed that’s needed (third rocket-boost on roof above freeze / shoot grenade in air and second before jump). It has an optional solo and so on...
The new one is much less spectacular.
About the difficulty:
I think it isn't that hard. It isn't too hard for a Moderate Map.
A few People tested the Map. Also people who aren't really good.
There was a tester, who can't even finish the hard Novice Maps. But he could do this part.
So I’m sure good players like Lady Saavik are able to do this part, it’s just a bit trickier.
I think on a Moderate Map can be a part, wich needs a few tries. It is the last part. It should give a little challenge to the end.

I've also test the map a lot of times during all the creation and I totally agree with Hi_Leute_gll, the last part was better longer and not so tricky just have to use 3 rockets (1 in air and 2 on the ground).
