Instead of searching through every thread for nice looking mapres there could be a database for it, just like there is one for skins.
This makes the collected mapres clear, which makes downloading mapres easier and makes collecting mapres easier for the mapper himself.
This also prevents mapres of being reposted.

A database could be a solution for mappers who seek mapres, so they don't have to open every thread on every forum.

This idea exists since a year. There is just no one to implement it.

Just as hi_leute_gll wrote. There's even waiting forum rank for Mapres Database Crew since few months.

He liked it, and started working on it some time ago though later he abadonned the work.
IIRC, he just wanted to write it in other language and so had to improve his skills in it, dunno if he still plans to write it somewhen.

A short time solution could be to make a database in the form of a post in the mapres section. A sticky post that is locked, with all the current mapres posted in it.
I can gather all the mapres from all the forums and send it to the person who is the owner of the 'database'(which is the sticky post). This post should be very visible, for example it can be put at the top of the mapres section in a subforum named "Mapres Database", locked so that nobody can react to it.

When somebody suggest new mapres in a normal post it can be added to the sticky post and the owner of the 'database' post can comment "mapres_blablabla by thisguy added to the database" so that the post notificates people that there is a new mapres added to the 'database'.

We can make it sticky and visible then :)
Would be really appreicated, but its a lot of work and just a temporary solution until we have a real database.
So again, if its ok for you that the thread probably will be useless in few months then do it.
