Hello there,

got a problem: cant open ddnet client (on mac os x 10.11.4)

It always crashes " cant open cuz of a problem"
It doesnt matter if i install it or open it from dmg

Has somebody got an idea what the problem is?

I bet the error is more exact than "cant open cuz of a problem". Could you show us the full error message? Did DDNet Client 9.3 work?

Thanks for your fast reply deen and sorry for my very (very) unprecise words in the post.

I have restarted and updated (tho very little updates, nothing big) my laptop now and reinstalled DDnet Client 10.1.1 but it is still not working.

Here is the error message:

"DDNet cannot be opened because of a problem.
Check with the developer to make sure DDNet works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X.

Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."

I installed DDnet Client 9.3.1 like you suggested which worked.
Hopefully this can help you to get a better idea of what i meant.

Ok, so it's an SDL2 problem. I asked HMH to look into it, since he also has OS X. Maybe he has an idea.

Okay thanks, i don´t have knowledge about "that stuff". In the meantime i will just play 9.3.1

Oh, now that I think about it, it's possible that you just need to install the runtime binaries from here: https://www.libsdl.org/download-2.0.php

Installed runtime binaries, followed the instructions and installed them into the folder Frameworks:

HMH fixed it, so now it should work with the new download from the website even if you don't have SDL2 installed.
