DDNet Client Server List not loading

I updated my client to 10.1.1 and now the server list isn't updating. I tried going back to the old version of DDNet that I had been running before (9.1), but I get the same problem with the server list not updating.

I'm on OS X 10.11.5, and this is what it looks like after DDNet starts:

That sounds strange. You can try removing your config, but I always forget where it is on OS X. Try removing settings.cfg and settings_ddnet.cfg anyway. Also try Vanilla client. Maybe something else is wrong with your system.

According to the storage.cfg, those should be in
$USERDIR = ~/Library/Applications Support/appname for OS X and ~/.appname for UNIX
$DATADIR = data directory in the official release
$CURRENTDIR = working directory
I checked all these locations and I couldn't find my settings.cfg or settings_ddnet.cfg, but I imagine I should have it somewhere since my friends list is loading and it also has a list of my demos.

Tried Vanilla client and it had the same problem with the server list (In Vanilla client I also couldn't select any of the text boxes e.g. in settings to select my name, whereas I am able to select text boxes in DDNet). Should I go to the teeworlds forum at this point?

This doesn't really sound like a Teeworlds or DDNet specific problem. Do you have a firewall running? Something that blocks UDP? Can you play in your browser (doesn't use UDP): http://teewebs.net/

No firewall. http://teewebs.net/ works fine for me, so I guess that means I have something blocking UDP? Haven't downloaded anything or changed settings related to blocking any connections as far as I know, so not sure how I'd go about figuring out what is doing that.

To open your settings folder you can do this in Finder: Press: ⇧⌘G --> a window will pop up, insert the following Text: ~/Library/Application Support/Teeworlds/ --> Press enter. This will open the folder with you settings-files.

If removing those also does not work you could try to set up a local server and check if this works. By the way, do the servers just not show up or is connecting to them also impossible (I assume so but you did not directly mention it, so I want to confirm this).

Oh, sorry, my brain had completely skipped the ~. Found the settings now! Sadly even after getting rid of the setting .cfg files (as well as the rest of the folder in a later test), it still didn't load the servers. This time the list didn't even load any IP addresses (though I'm guessing the only reason they showed up before I had deleted the Application Support folder is because they were cached): Empty Server List

Running a local server does work for me!

Connecting to the servers was also impossible.

Does your local server show up in the LAN-Tab ?

Oh and yes the ddnet-serverlist is/was cached.

Yes, sorry I was not more specific.

The local server shows up in the LAN-Tab and I am also able to play on this server. So DDNet appears to work as normal for my local server. I tried this both with emptying the settings files before loading Teeworlds so that I would be playing with default settings, as well as with putting back my old settings, and I was able to play on my local server as expected both times.

I just got an email from my university (I live in university housing) saying that they changed the network hardware in my housing and that it caused certain applications including games and internet phone calls to stop working. So the problem is on my end with my university!

Thank you for for looking into the problem for me :D
At this point the university gave us a temp fix with a VPN to connect to the university servers instead of our housing. Hopefully a more lasting one will come soon
