Can't use the IDs with "\"?

Today my friend
/\/\ told me that he cant use his old ID "/\/\". When he enter DDnet server with this ID, it will automatically change to "(1)/\/\".
Is it a bug of DDnet server? I know that the ID with escape character "\" may cause some others bugs of ddnet database. If this bug can not fix, /\/\ want to change his play record to a new ID. i wonder if it is OK?

It's forbidden and it's for sure not the best solution, but read this for more information:

About name changing and point transfer you can probably write a pm to
(idk who is responsible .___.) maybe deen. He ususally changes it if there are really important reasons like this one.

Thank for your reply. I understand the reason that cause this bug now but I think that solution way is not better enough too. /\/\ have used this ID for a long time and it is meanful to him...
Maybe I should pm deen to ask him whether it have a better solution way. If not, /\/\ want to change his ID into "Alice30".
