You play the demo in a lower speed like 0.5 or 0.25, record this and then let the video run in 2 times speed. Thus you get more fps with lower hardware.
Use OBS Studio at that.
But, HMH has been working on an mp4 recorder in-game! https://github.com/ddnet/ddnet/pull/546
This will enable you to render videos at a very high quality even with bad computers. It will just take a long time.
