Application as an ingame-moderator

Hi my name is CrashtimeHD and I'm addicted to DDNet,
Who is that guy?Show
I'm a 20-year-old guy from Germany who got in touch with Teeworlds when I was 12 years old or something like that.
Well, back then I used to play Teeworlds with my classmates at school when we had several computers near us. Since we only played CTF on LAN, Teeworlds got boring after some time and I lost interest in it.
But then, after a few years (maybe when I was 15 years old) I remembered the fun I had with Teeworlds before and I started playing zCatch. However, I also lost fun in that and I quit playing Teeworlds in the end.

After a long time (not that long actually), when I was 17 or 18 years old I met a guy at school. This guy and I had a talk about Teeworlds and he asked whether I had played DDRace before. As you expect, the answer was "No".
So I started to play DDRace with this guy. It was hard to get started because he never played novice maps with me, don't know why.

And this was actually my hard way how I got in touch with DDNet. Since then I am an active DDNet-player (at least I think so) and care about DDNet (well, I only play 2 years with this name on DDNet but somehow I care about it).
I'm writing this application to get "power" which I don't want to abuse, overuse or use in my own interest.
For me moderators aren't just people who kick/mute players which deserve it.
In my opinion moderators also have the obligation to make the community happy, keep the game enjoyable and being able to give answers regarding DDNet when they are involved in that topic.
As you may have read before, I care about DDNet. From my point of view, I am also an active DDNet-player. These are some of the reasons why I'm applying as an ingame-moderator. Maybe you already know me or have seen me online before! And if not, well, I can't be everywhere.

I know we have many moderators for the german servers. I usually see some of them on a server with lots of people playing (e.g. when a new map has been released). When you play on a server with less then 20 or even 30 players you don't see moderators that often (at least it seems so to me).

Sometimes, when I play on a server with a lower amount of players, mean players catch my attention but words aren't enough in some cases. And there are no moderators nearby to give these players a little warning and time to overthink their actions and change their behaviour. Those people need to understand that they're a part of DDNet and DDNet rules apply to them as to everyone else when they join a DDNet server.
I intend to use the "power" I ask for only when words aren't enough. I think moderator-"power" should only be used and needed as a way to react to people behaving bad if they don't recognize their bad behaviour themselves and don't want to change their behaviour.
To sum up:
  • 20 years old
  • playing on GER
  • applying as moderator on GER
  • active DDNet-player (let it be at least 1-2 hours a day and in average maybe 5-6 days a week)
  • wants to be a moderator because they are responsible for the cummunity and their satisfaction
  • cares about DDNet
  • wants that the community can enjoy the game and not that they are annoyed by one single guy behaving bad.
  • don't want to swing the banhammer, instead looking forward to talk with that paticular person and solve this problem friendly.

Can't remember any bad behavior from this guy when I have seen him. He also took a good amount of time to write this application. He have a mature age and he doesn't seem to be out searching for fame. And to be honest, I can find myself in this guy's position.
I know that I am on a trail, and this should probably be handed to The Council, but I vote yes :)
