Here is my new Skin-Installer.

How does it work?
It works very simple:
-You need the .jar-File and a folder named "Skins" next to each other. For example on Desktop or in your Teeworlds-folder.
-Now you put all skins you want to add in the "Skins"-folder. After this doubleclick the .jar-File and click on "Install".
(For Linux-users: You have to execute it via Terminal: "java -jar Skin Installer.jar".)
-The skins will be copied in the Teeworlds-Folder where the demos, maps, screenshots etc. are.

Why does it copy the skins in this folder and not in data/skins?
-Now you can use the skins in every client you have and not in DDNet-Client only.
-If there are updates of the Client wich have effects to the data/skins-folder your skins will be save.

How can i update Skins?
-If you want to update a skin wich is already installed put the new version in the "Skins"-folder and the Installer will replace it. So you can easy update your skins.

Wich OS is supported?
-It should work on all Windows, Mac and Linux-Systems.

And here it is:
Skin Installer.zip
(2.75 KiB) Downloaded 255 times

I hope it makes adding skins a little bit easier for you.
If you have suggestions to improve it pls tell me.

Thanks to hannibal and kamillentee for testing the Installer on Mac and Linux.

If there is someone who can tell me why it just work on Linux if you use the Terminal than explain me pls. :ugeek:

Is this program Open source?
Maybe it can be ported to C++ and merged in DDNet on Github.

Sure. If you want to add this do the Client, feel free to do it, but i think that the program like it is makes no sense in Client, cause if you add it you have to search the folders again. Now to find the Installer.

A long term solution could be to add something like the ressource-pack-screen in Minecraft. So you could easily drag and drop the skins in and out. A API to connect to a server and download the skins would be the next step.

Don't know if it would make sense to invest so much time in it. :D

It's more than i expected it to be. I just wanted to say that people dont learn how teeworlds folders work if you write programms to manage their folders.

I did the programm to make it easier to manage the folders. So they don't need to know there it is. That's the sense of it...

Most of players dont want to know the dependencies between the folders, so this little program would help them out to manage their skins pretty easy.
