Yo, how's it going, I'm Welshi, also goes by The Welshi at times, and when even that is taken TheOneWelshi tends to be the final option. I've been playing since october of 2020, which makes it around a year and a half since I started playing to date, february tenth. In this time I started playing first in Argentina servers (before they got purged), and currently play in usa servers as I've moved since then. I am 19 at the moment, and I moved so as to attend college here in the us. Since then I have accumulated around 2700 hours (that's an average of 5.6 hours a day holy. I mean Im sure Ive left the game running overnight by accident sometimes but still). As someone who has lived in both the us and argentina for extended periods of time, and studied both languages my whole life, I am fluent in both english and spanish (though admittedly have been known for being a bit deaf in voice chats). Throughout my time in the game what Ive mostly come to love about it is the sense of community and, quite literally, "the friends we made along the way", which is what makes me want to be a moderator. DDNet for me has, and still is, a fun experience where I get to laugh, cry and persevere with others. Being on a single map with 5 others for 6 hours does things to you I swear. However, at the same time, I've also experienced a lot of injustice. I still remember getting funvoted 4 hours into grandma. Which, while a terrible time, was still my time at the time, and the furthest Id ever gotten in the map. I remember coming across blockers in novice maps more times than I can count, and I have been frustrated about it before too. Now, I'm by no means saying I can change this, I know whole heartedly that I am but a single dude behind a laptop, but if I can help at least one person experience anything close to what I've experienced since joining this community, then I will consider it a mission accomplished.

Now, I did go into a bit of a ramble there I feel like, so let's get back in business for a second. And talking about business, I am not a very formal person. I know I'm supposed to be highlighting my highs, but if the previous paragraph wasn't enough to make you realize, I believe speaking from the heart can achieve much more than hiding behind a line of politically correct language. This does mean that at times I can be a bit too frank, but usually empathy stops me from going too far. Furthermore, I am a rather lenient person, I try to look into both sides of an argument, regardless how clear it might be who's in the right or not, which makes em a tat bit indecisive at times as well. I understand that while I should be highlighting my highs, I should probably also mention my lows, as I don't want to be accepted only to fall short on expectations, cause I am definitely not perfect.

Finally, you can always get a hold of me through discord, since while I'm not that active in the official ddnet discord, (other than the occasional message here and there), I am active in other servers (mostly just hanging in vc with people though). My active hours tend to be more towards the night, as during the day I'm at college. I am, admittedly, not very active in the forums, what with this being my first post ever.

Anyways, thank you for reading my application, I can understand if I'm a bit too new to the game to get the role, but I figured I might as well shoot my shot.

Easily approachable and caring, and a very nice person overall. While fairly new to the game they are pretty knowledgeable to the game as a whole. Very casual and calm person, who would be a pretty good fit for a moderator, especially since USA does not have very many mods at the moment AFAIK
