Redownloading maps?!?!
i Have like 8 copies of the same map why do i need to download every map after a few months AGAIN
- hers the thing i go into server its a new map i download it fine few months pass i have to get it again and i just accept it but for 8 times now i have to download every map again and again
- dummy maps i saw got the new tile so that makes sense but normal maps i go into novice server and have to download it again i done all novice maps so theoretically i should have them all downloaded but no DDNeT servers decide i dont have Fluff_jkaq23e.map i have Fluff_akj34.map and need to download it again
WHAT IS GOING ON???
this is a BIG annoyance and id like to know why that is

Re: Redownloading maps?!?!
Because of uploading fixes is the only thing I can think of.
You're annoyed by the taken space on disk or just by having to see the downloading-screen every once in a while? I guess second, but prefer to ask.

Re: Redownloading maps?!?!
Sadly rather no, since maps are reuploaded whenever any not-so-unimportant bug is found & fixed...

Re: Redownloading maps?!?!
You just need to stop fixing every minor bug and the problem would be solved. But for that there would have to be someone who actually cares about DDNet and its community, so... no way to fix it.

Re: Redownloading maps?!?!
I think the majority of ddnet users don't really have problems to download a <500kb map an additional time.
And sometimes it's unavoidable to re-upload a map. However you're totally right, we might have to think even more about certain fixes.
I promise to be more aware of this in the future.
Added short sentence about that in How to report bugs, archived this thread for now.
