That's why i always have a copy of the ddnet-settings.cfg on my desktop. Ik that it doesn't help you for know, but for the future a good tip, i think.

DDNet client always saves its settings when you close it. If something goes wrong at that exact moment the config may end up broken. Not sure what causes this, I sometimes hear this happening, but have never observed it myself.

OS, Client version, 64bit/32bit ? What happens when you try to join new maps ? Define updater won't work..

when i update the client, he shows "Updating" forever, and if i close the client while updating all is delited.
sometimes when i want to join a server with a new map he sais: Map differs from the server.... .or. Map not found. but it works when i turn my client off and on again
