I prefer just having the teamspeak. I wouldn't want to hear a bunch of kids and trolls screaming into the mic all of the time.

people who don't like voice chatting would probably have to use it if their friends start using it, because nobody would read the normal chat anymore.

im also worried about my bandwidht. voice chat could cause a big amount of lag.

what i would prefer is a voice-text translator that records from the microphone while a key is pressed and translates it to text and writes it to chat when the key is released.

That's my biggest worry too. :c

The speech-to-text translator idea is unfortunately probably very hard or just virtually impossible. :c

I don't think it's impossible, but nobody would implement this voluntary, especially not in c++.

So, in tournament or when you are in full server you have to mute 64 people? And others hear you if they don't mute you? Man it isn't possible... Maybe it will be cool in pvp tournament for team chat

I think I have a sollutions for kids and trolls. Add voicechat, but only for people who u want to talk with. Something like : if u want to play with someone and talk with him or with lot of ppl in team just add them to friends list. U can easily erase them from friends and dont hear them anymore. Sorry for Eng, but i think u understand me.
The game with voice chat will be more insteresting and comunicating will be easier and much more funny.

Im against voice chat, simply because there are many other ways (skype,ts).
We really don't need this in teeworlds.
