Hey All

I was wondering if there was a command I could use to display text to myself on the client.
I have tried whispering to myself but that duplicates the text and will cause you to be silenced if spammed.

Any form of text display would be great and not public would be great too.

If you are curious as to why I want this:
I am making a menu system with all the binds I find useful:
(Everything from Adjusting settings/Seeing map info/Useful editor commands/Dummy commands/Resetting Your Char/Emotes And Eye Settings/Teleporting to Numbered Tp or CP).
The menu system uses .cfg files to change what buttons do and consists of a large number of these cfg files.
I need a way to display what menu you are currently on and what the buttons will do.

If anyone is interested in this I will upload my work when I am done.

At least on the ddnet servers, you can write anything you want after a / (obviously if it's not an actual command) and it will be displayed.
That's certainly not the best way, but "say /lookthisistext", will result in ***No such command: lookthistext. WIth no mute or anything.

However, ff there is an easier and better way, I'm really interested as well! :)

on ddnet just /w YOURNAME it worked to me

The echo command should do it, but it doesnt display any text, just in the console.

Worked for me too Pixel, the problem came in that it generated two lines of text and it would get you muted if spammed. I wanted multiple messages thus causing the menus to disappear after a few presses.

Index think I will have to use your idea after all, at least I can use underscore for spaces. Wonder what other special characters would work. I'll drop the files here when I am done.
